Resolutions 2 0 1 5

I feel like I've been terrible at blogging lately and mostly because Cash is a little handful, a fun handful! To blog more is actually one of my top resolutions for this year. I want to write down everything so that I can look back and remember Cash's first year perfectly. Blog AND take pictures. Time has gone so fast, he has grown so big and is not my little fragile newborn anymore. I'm reminded of this every time I pick him up, when I'm buttoning his jammies that are getting too tight but were a little loose just a week ago, and at night when I go to bed and his small little bassinet isn't right next to my side of the bed anymore. However, seeing him grow and learn new things has been so amazing and fun. He amazes me everyday with how smart and strong he is. I love it!
2014 was such an amazing year for Scott and I! I think it will always be my favorite year because it's the year I found out I was going to be a mama and have become one, which is the most precious thing to me. Our family is very excited for what 2015 has in store for us!
One thing that I am anxious to share is that I just opened an Etsy shop! It's called The Trendy Timber, go check it out! This was actually my resolution for 2014, but it never happened. I kept dragging my feet. I've always had the dream of opening an Etsy shop, crafting is one of my most favorite things to do and I am so happy to be able to share my hobby with others through my pieces.
Another resolution we just started is sleep training Cash, so I guess that translates to get better sleep. So far we have seen a lot of progress. He has always had good weeks and bad weeks, putting him to sleep would be a whole ordeal with a lot of rocking and bouncing...and repeating because when we set him down he woke right back up. Scott and I finally decided something had to change. Cash has been taking the change like a champ, it hasn't been easy, but it has been getting better!
Ever since we have had Cash I've pretty much been going to bed at 8:30 or 9:00, because sleep has been random at times, and to insure I would get some shut eye, going to bed early was a must. This meant Scott and I didn't get much time together. Scott would come home from school, we would have dinner, and then do the long bedtime routine to get Cash to sleep and soon after I would follow. Now that we are sleep training and getting the hang of this parenting thing we have found more time for just us, which is another resolution of ours. We love to play games together, watch shows, have long talks, and just be silly together. It is nice to have some time for one another each day!
Lastly, it wouldn't be a New Year's resolution list without the 'work out daily and be healthy', but I'm going to go ahead and throw that in there because Scott and I actually really NEED to. Through my pregnancy we did really well at working out daily I would go on long walks with my big belly and Scott would go running. Granted we didn't have a little baby to take care of, a job, or school. It's hard to find motivation to work out when you are so tired at the end of the day, plus once you finally have time to yourself all you want to do is relax! Hoping to set a time in stone when we are going to each work out and stick to it.
Cash's New Years resolution is to gain weight, try food, crawl, walk, and run :). So excited for him to accomplish these things. But for now I'll just enjoy setting him down and him not going anywhere!

Hello 2 0 1 4

2013 will forever be my favorite year, because it's the year I married my best friend. I can't wait to see what 2014 has in store for us! Cheers to another wonderful year!
 So many great things have happened throughout 2013: Scott and I started to date, picked out a ring, we got engaged, planned a wedding, went to the temple for the first time together, got married, honeymooned in Mexico, attended our first family reunions as a married couple for both sides, bought our first pieces of furniture, moved into our first apartment, and completed the optometry application. 2014, we are ready for you.
Our resolutions for this year are...
:: keep a work out routine
:: learn to sew (me)
:: blog more
:: go to the temple every month
:: try to understand before being understood
:: write in a journal at least once every week
:: be more spiritually minded
:: be slow to anger
:: open an etsy shop
:: finish reading a book together
